CytoTrack is a novel technology for Rare Cell Detection (RCD) and detection of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC). It provides a number of important improved features compared to the common technologies available on the market today.
CytoTrack is designed for the specific challenges of CTC detection and isolation. CytoTrack has an extreme high scanning capacity. One million blood cells are scanned in just one minute.
The basic isolation concept is different from other common CTC technologies. The complete detection concept is optical. No magnetic separation or filtration is needed.
CytoTrack eliminates the need for pre-selection with EpCAM. Many types of cancer cells show little or no EpCAM expression and can therefore not be detected by EpCam based systems. If desired, EpCAM antibody can be included, but the process is not restricted to incorporate it.
The CytoTrack technology has a very high sensitivity that makes it possible to detect even the weakest fluorescent signals from each single target cell.
CytoTrack combines quantitative detection of CTC (enumeration) and the possibility for qualitative detection (molecular characterization of the individual target cell).
